Resort Nursing Home

Today is National Doctors’ Day and we want to celebrate every physician that makes the choice to put their patients first. Becoming a doctor in any medical field is no easy feat by any means. It is intense and requires a great deal of time, knowledge, experience, dedication, and compassion.

1st celebrated on March 30th, 1933, National Doctors’ Day was created by Eudora Brown Almond, the wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond in order to honor physicians. The community started by mailing greeting cards and placing flowers on the graves of deceased doctors.

Healthcare as we know it is consistently evolving and growing. New technology, new information, new cures, new ways of helping people become available every day.

Given the unprecedented circumstances of the last two years, countless doctors have put their lives on the line for their local communities and communities at large.  Whether you’re a pediatrician, surgeon, vet, or psychologist, whether you’re working on a military base, major hospital or local clinic. A doctor’s job is never easy. However, today We thank you for your hard work. We thank you for your minds, and the care you give to your patients.

How YOU can celebrate National Doctors’ Day

  • Say Thank You; sometimes these two words can mean the world
  • Send a Card; it may seem simple, but taking the time to send a card, something they can hold on to, really goes a long way.
  • Send flowers or treats; there is an indescribable feeling during the very moment when a nice surprise of flowers or candy show up unexpectedly
  • Share a story on social media; doctors see tons of patients over the years and sharing a memory on social media can very well bring a smile to their face.

Today, make sure you send a quick thank you to your local doctor.
